This week Microsoft have reportedly been inundated with complaints from parents that controls are no longer available on Xbox One, despite the fact that they never used them on the 360.
Our attention is drawn to the poor team of developers, tucked away in a corner at Microsoft HQ, who toiled for months of their lives to create vital parental control functionality into the Xbox 360. Given that the consoles and their games are subsequently sold to anyone with the vague ability to walk, the controls were never fully embraced by the gamer-parent community.
Some researchers (who we cannot possibly name) even estimate that as little as 4 parents in the entire world know the controls even exist. This means that the five strongly worded emails Microsoft received this week carry even more weight – we did the math and that literally represents 110% of the every parent who even knew parental controls existed.
Microsoft have, as usual, been unavailable for comment.
